ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Marc, and I'm a film student at LIU Post. There, I've learned to work with my strengths in frame composition and lighting, and have come across great success as a cinematographer. I enjoy all of the artistic merit that comes along with shooting a film, and also the in-depth technological facets to making action come to life. I've worked starting with simple miniDV, all the way through 16mm B&W and color, standard DV, HDV, and HDSLR. Using knowledge from both a film and video background, I can find the most appropriate techniques for specific situations. I can bring great visual advancements to a project, whether through my experience as a cinematographer, assistant camera, or gaffer. Here is my continuously-building list of projects I have worked on over the past few years:

        ANNOUNCEMENT

-5 January 2012-

Production on Us & Them began in December, with the filming of a prom scene. It went very well, and the stills of the set can be seen below. Starting a feature was quite daunting, but it is proving to be a great time. We're nearing the beginning of shooting for Black Dawn my personal biggest undertaking in years. Plans are for shooting to take place until the middle of February. Shooting for Us & Them will continue, scattered during and after Black Dawn production. After most of the shooting is complete, The Tilt of a Rose will begin in mid-March. The production schedule is nearly non-stop, and it will be a memorable ride.

-14 October 2011-

The new cycle of filmmaking has begun, as we begin production on three new films. The crew this year is remaining to be the tight-knit group that found its place with Super/Heroes and Raw Umber last spring. Robert La Rosa's thesis film, End of the Great American Businessman has been a great shoot so far with this crew, with the addition of Gia McKenna as Assistant Director, and newbie Ryan Campbell as AC/Key Grip. Now we take a break for a little less than a month, and in the meantime, casting and final drafting of Black Dawn and Us & Them will take place. Black Dawn is looking to shoot in January and February, and Us & Them is a short feature that will be shooting between November and March. After that, writing is taking place for Nugent Cantileno's and Alan R. Holloway's thesis films. It's going to be a very busy next several month, but we're sure the end product will be worth it!

It has been such a hectic past few months here, with four films being worked on simultaneously. The crew for "Super/Heroes" and "Raw Umber" has been one of the greatest teams of people I've worked with, and thanks to that, we will have great end products. "Super/Heroes" and "Shadowplay" were both submitted to the Long Island International Film Expo, and we're hoping for the best when it comes to being accepted! The "Super/Heroes" and "Raw Umber" crew will continue to look into future festivals and screenings to get our work out there. Currently, there are two teaser trailers for "Super/Heroes" and the official trailer for "Raw Umber". Links are below. Please check them out!

-5 January 2011-

The next few months are going to be quite the busy ones, with so many great projects lined up. It's going to be a lot of work, but also a lot of fun.  This past sunday, principal photography began on the short film "Deleted", which is being directed by Jason Hess, who I previously worked with on last year's "Loaded". He's a more technical director, which helps challenge me to do well. Next up will be "Super/Heroes", which is a project I've been involved with for quite a long time now during pre-production. The crew is amazing, and director Josh Paige ("Pictures of You") brings a very visual mindset to the work and keeps things fun, which enables to me get comfortable and aspire to do things bigger and better. I'll be working with him again on "Raw Umber", which is his pet project. On top of those three films, I have plenty of other things on my hands, and they're all looking to be amazing experiences. I'll be keeping you updated in our new blog section here on the site as things develop.
